Today in Math, we worked on decomposing the number 7. To begin, I gave the students the following scenario:
The students were told they could use a variety of tools to help them find as many different answers as possible. I was so proud to see the students trying to use the different tools in the classroom like counters, the hundreds chart and rekenreks. In addition, they did a spectacular job using pictures, numbers and/words to show their thinking.
