Responsibility Commitments

Today in Grade One Social Studies, we did some self-reflection. I asked the students to think about one responsibility that they felt they were good at.

Then we reviewed the responsibilities of a child and a student. I asked each student to think about one responsibility that they felt they could improve on.

Finally, students were asked to make a responsibility commitment. Each student picked a responsibility that they could improve on and promised that for one whole week they would focus on completing this responsibility to the best of their ability. Next week, we will review our commitments and complete a self-evaluation form, assessing our progress.

Ask your child what their commitment is and help them brainstorm ways to become better at that responsibility.
