Rekenreks

Today in Math, the students practised using rekenreks to add. A rekenrek is similar to an abacus, with a few important differences. The rekenreks has only two rows of beads; each row consists of 5 white and 5 red. This helps students to notice the patterns in numbers and to “see” numbers without having to count.
