Today, in Grade One Science, the students were given a challenge: use the junk pile to build a house that could protect against a tornado.
The students were given 10 minutes to build their houses.
After, we tested the houses for wind resistance and stability by creating our own wind storm.
From our testing, we realized that our houses needed something to hold them together – fasteners! We learned that fasteners hold things together and that here are many different types of fasteners in the world. We brainstormed these examples of fasteners.
