New Noise Tracker

Group work can be great… But noisy! Today we used a new noise tracker to help us keep the level of our voices at a “reasonable” volume.

This noise tracker works by measuring the volume of the class and creating a visual image of the volume that I can project onto the Smartboard. When the noise level is high, the balls bounce high; when the volume is low, the balls rest at the bottom. The students were super motivated by this new tool… and it totally worked! I would shout “yippee!”, but I don’t want to send the balls flying! 😀
