More “Quitters”

Today, we finished reading The Day the Crayons Quit. After reading, I asked students to imagine what might happen if other objects wanted to quit. Then the students watched and read aloud as I wrote a letter. At first, I did not write who the letter was from…The students picked out clues from the letter and tried to guess. In the end, they guessed it was my slippers that wrote the letter.

After, we brainstormed other objects that might want to quit their “job”.

Finally, the students got the chance to write a letter posing as an object that wants to quit.
