Larger and Smaller Numbers

Today we learned how to identify larger and smaller numbers. We began by using counters to examine the concept of smaller and larger.


Then we used a number line to compare sets of numbers created by our classmates.



The students learned that the number line helps us identify smaller and larger numbers. Asher explained that numbers closer to zero are smaller than numbers farther away – that is why his 11 is smaller than Zara’s 15.
